Summer Reminiscence - Art Competition

Summer’s here (even if the British weather disagrees at times). Now’s the time of year to pack your bags and head off on holiday to somewhere exotic. 

It’s understandable that for many of us, a trip anywhere is out of the question at the moment.

So, you may well find yourself thinking back to past holidays to exotic locations or remembering with fondness a day trip you’ve had with your loved ones.

Summertime is the time to get creative

Our new competition is about capturing your favourite summer holiday memory and presenting your artwork in your chosen medium (see the categories below).

To give you some ideas, this might be a picture you’ve painted when you were on holiday or you may choose to enter an old holiday sketch from your portfolio. You may even want to enter a new piece of work based on a recollection of a holiday from the past.

The entries will go to a public vote to shortlist the top 10 favourites in each category. A panel of judges from the local creative community will then choose the overall winners.

We have a spectacular prize bundle for each category with a selection of art materials worth over £200.

That's over £1600 worth of prizes up for grabs!

What you need to know to take part

Submit your entry between
16th July - 26th August 2020

Vote for your favourites
from 27th August to 9th September 2020

Our panel of judges will pick their favourites when voting ends at midnight on 9th September 2020

Competition Categories

We have 8 competition categories to select from. You may enter more than one category if you have artwork that meets the category specification. 

• Oil Painting
• Acrylic Painting
• Watercolour Painting
• Drawing
• Pastel Painting
• Mixed Media
• Digital Art
• Under 12 Years

Image Specifications

• All images must be the artist’s own work
• Artwork should be on the theme of 'Holiday Reminiscence'
• Digital images should be saved as .jpg or .png files only
• Do not send images of your artwork with frames or watermarks
• Image uploads must be no larger than 2000px on their longest side and not exceed 5mb

Note: 72DPI is sufficient for display online
